Cost of using permanent vs. disposable ware

Total costs of using permanent versus disposable ware in two schools using different systems were compared. The methods and results are discussed. An economic advantage was found in using permanent ware over disposable ware in the schools studied, i.e., 4 cents versus 10 cents per student. Amortization of the permanent ware over a useful service life tends to lessen the overall effect of the initial or first cost; nevertheless, there is a trend toward the use of disposable ware. Tables show statistics.
