The role of nutrition information in National nutrition policy

Four basic approaches available to policy makers concerned with the achievement of nutrition policy objectives are outlined. The delivery of nutrition information is one of several alternatives; several problems in implementing this approach are discussed. Six stages in the process of developing an effective program for the delivery of nutrition information are presented. The development of such a strategy represents a special challenge because of the multiplicity of information vehicles available to the policy maker.
