This paper provides a general review on folate and vitamin B₁₂ nutrition and metabolism and the metabolic interrelationship between these vitamins. The effects of some common polymorphisms in folate and vitamin B₁₂ genes and the influence of vitamin B₆ and riboflavin status on folate and vitamin B₁₂ metabolism are also discussed.
