Individual differences in foraging decisions: information-gathering strategies or flexibility?
2016
Arvidsson, Lisa K. | Matthysen, Erik
Individual animals differ in their behavioral reactions to changing food availability, and this variation has been linked with innate variation in personality traits. We studied the response of individual great tits to changing food situations in an aviary and examined whether individual responses reflect different information-gathering strategies or overall flexibility of behavior. We found that individuals differ in the way they gather information from feeders and that this was linked with personality. Twitter: @lisaporcelina
