National School Lunch Week (NSLW) for 1984 is October 14-20, and a number of activities are presented along with the theme that can be used to promote NSLW and promote student interest. A message from the assistant secretary of agriculture, Mary Jarratt, is included. This message gives some background on the school feeding program, states its accomplishments, and emphasizes the importance of good nutrition for the nation's youth. Five NSLW activities are listed: tasting party; food and nutrition quiz; memorandum to school teachers; nutrition unscramble; and menu planning - nutrition . Worksheets for each activity along with appropriate procedures, objectives, and answers were applicable. An order form is included for NSLW materials and the 1984 poster is presented at the conclusion of the article. (kbc)
