Quantitative changes of polyamines and activity of ADC in developing and germinating seeds of two groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) genotypes
1989
Savithramma, N. | Swamy, P.M.
In the developing pods of two genotypes of groundnut, putrescine, cadaverine, spermidine and spermine decreased in the fruit wall and increased in the developing seed. ADC activity also followed the same pattern. On germination all the polyamines decreased in the cotyledons and increased progressively in the growing embryonic axis. The level of all the polyamines showed differences between both the cultivars during seed development and germination.
