The genus Amorphoscelis Stål (Mantodea: Amorphoscelidae) from China, with description of two new species and one newly recorded species

The genus Amorphoscelis Stål, 1871 includes 50 species recorded from Africa and Asia, and four species recorded from China. Here, after examining numerous specimens of Amorphoscelis, we describe two new species, A. guaduna sp. nov. and A. xueshani sp. nov., and consider A. stellulata Yang, 1999 and A. phaesoma Yang, 1999 to be synonyms of A. chinensis Tinkham, 1937 based on their identical male genetalia. We also provide a new species record from China, A. singaporana Giglio-Tos, 1915, with necessary redescription. There are currently five described Amorphoscelis species from China. A key to all species of Amorphoscelis from China is presented.
