Intravaginal progesterone sponges in conjunction with pregnant mare serum gonadotropin (PMSG) are the most effective hormonal regimes used to improve the reproductive performance of sheep. Therefore, this study was conducted to extract (PMSG) from pregnant mares and to prepare intravaginal sponges in the laboratory. In conclusion, locally prepared sponges and (PMSG) were as effective as those imported materials. This is encouraging to make these materials available to be incorporated into local practical trials to improve sheep production in Iraq
