Effect of weight and age of pregnant dam on the weight of born lambs in Awassi sheep

Thirty ewes were used to study the effect of pregnant dam weight on the lamb weight. Moreover, sixty nine ewes were used to study the effect of dam age on the lamb weight. The results of this study explained that the lamb weight, percent to the dam weight gain at pregnancy was 41.64, and the lamb weight percent to the lost in dam weight after parturation was 53.33. The results also explained that the mean of lambs weight at parturation was increased with the incresment in dams weight during pregnancy period. The differences were significant among lambs weights at parturation which were borned from dams that have different weight and ages furtheremore, there was an increment in the number of ewes which were born twin with incresment in age
