1993
Salman, M.A. | Abdel-Husseine, M.A. (Baghdad Univ. Coll. of Agric. Dept. of Hort. (Iraq))
Subterminal cutting of the Ashrasy olive cultivar treated with the following control, wounding (3 vertical cut), IBA (4000 ppm for 5 sec.), wounding + 4000 ppm IBA and wounding + 2 sucrose solution for 24 hrs. then inserted into 3 rooting media, sand, sandy loam and sand + sandy loam (1:1). Results obtained may be summarized as follow : In general the wounding treatment gave the highest rooting percentage whereas wounding + IBM 4000 ppm gave the highest root number and dry weight especially when the cuttings were inserted into sandy loam medium. Cuttings treated with IBA 4000 ppm and wounding + IBA 4000 ppm resulted in significant decrease in rooting percentage compared to control in the autumn season. The interaction between the rooting medium and different treatments significantly affected all the studied characters for the both season and no significant effect between medias was observed
