[The sanitary improvement of "Spinoso sardo" artichoke]

As a result of investigations on "Spinoso sardo" artichoke, it has been obtained: several plantlets from only one meristem-tip cultured "in vitro" on a suitable medium; more sprouts from an "ovulo" treated with kinetin; an easy and quick rooting of the sprouts following a combined treatment with indole-acetic and indole-butyric acids. These results are discussed with reference both to the elimination of ALV (Artichoke Latent Virus) from "Spinoso sardo" artichoke and to an efficient multiplication of the virus-freed material
