English. The research report highlights a case of streptococcal haematosepsis detected for the first time in an intensive pig rearing farm in the Benevento area. 40% of the young livestock (piglets) showed clinical symptoms of haematosepsis which was the cause of death and which was brought out in the anatomo-pathological examination. Laboratory research directly isolated the agent responsible (Streptococcus suis type 2) from the lung hyle, using agar strep with the addition of ram's blood and the API system for biochemical identification. A specifically aimed therapy by means of antibiogram led to a notable recovery of the infected piglets
