The purpose of this research was to compare the effects of two rearing systems on some productive performances as well as on the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the carcasses of wild ducks. For this purpose 48 subjects were divided into two groups, of 24 duckling each, kept in aviares with and without bath. The live weights were detected at birth and at the end of the trial (95 d), whereas feed consumption was recorded daily. The wild ducks kept in the aviary with water presented significantly higher increases and better quanti-qualitative characteristics of carcasses and meat

Il presente lavoro ha voluto confrontare gli effetti di due sistemi di allevamento sulle performance produttive del germano reale (Anas plathyryncos L.) e sulle caratteristiche quanti-qualitative delle carcasse. Per tale obiettivo sono stati impiegati 48 soggetti distribuiti in due gruppi di 24 anatroccoli allevati in voliere con e senza vasca artificiale. Il controllo dei pesi e' stato effettuato alla nascita e a fine prova (95 d), mentre i consumi alimentari sono stati rilevati giornalmente. I germani allevati nella voliera provvista di acqua hanno mostrato accrescimenti significativamente superiori (11.51 vs 10.51 g/d) e migliori caratteristiche quanti-qualitative delle carcasse e delle carni
