Changes in the energy intake may have serious consequences on fecundity of suckler cows but extra energy intake on a short period, known as flushing, can have positive effects on some animals. Following several recommendations, this will help to establish a diagnosis and treatment for each case: the use of notes on the fattening state as an indicator, fat reserve mobilisation in some animals, respecting recommendations for feeding, the use of fushing for thin animals and primiparous ones
