Compact oleander cultivars (Nerium oleander L.) for flowering pot production

English. The results of a study on two different propagation times (March 5th and June 15th 2001) in 15 oleander cultivars for flowering pot production are reported. As starting material, three-node cuttings were used. After rooting on bench provided with basal heating and mist system, cuttings were put in three-litre pots. Data were collected on rooting percentage, after potting survival percentage, height and diameter increase, flowering percentage and damages due to cold in Winter. Furthermore, a general evaluation of the tested varieties was given, based on scores and pondering coefficients. The obtained results showed that the earlier propagation period was more favourable both for plant growth and for flowering. The cultivars that stood out for a good flowering were Aurora, Soleil Levant, Petit Pink, Maurin des Maures, Angiolo Pucci and Papa' Gambetta

Si riferiscono i risultati di uno studio in cui sono state saggiate due diverse epoche di propagazione (5 marzo e 15 giugno 2001) su 15 cultivar di Nerium oleander L., per la produzione di vasi fioriti. Sono state utilizzate talee radicate con tre nodi trapiantate in contenitori da tre litri. I rilievi effettuati hanno riguardato le percentuali di radicazione e di attecchimento, l'accrescimento in altezza e diametro, il numero di ramificazioni, la percentuale di rami fioriti e i danni da freddo durante l'inverno. Inoltre, con dei punteggi e dei coefficienti di ponderazione si e' stilata una valutazione complessiva delle cultivar testate. I risultati ottenuti hanno evidenziato che le piante provenienti dalla prima epoca di propagazione (5 marzo 2001) sono risultate le migliori, sia per l'accrescimento, sia per la presenza di infiorescenze. Le cultivar che si sono distinte per una buona fioritura sono risultate Aurora, Soleil Levant, Petite Pink, Maurin des Maures, Angiolo Pucci e Papa' Gambetta
