English. Five new very early ripening varieties of peach and one of nectarine, introduced by the Fruit Breeding Dept. of the Istituto Sperimentale per la Frutticoltura, Rome, are described. The peach varieties are named Sole, distinguished by the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 according to the ripening time. The nectarine is named Elios. The Sole peach varieties ripen 47, 38, 36, 30 and 26 days, respectively, before Redhaven. The Elios nectarine ripens 40 days before Redhaven, that is 20 days before Armking

Le varieta' di pesco sono denominate Sole, distinte dai numeri 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 secondo l'epoca di maturazione. La nettarina e' chiamata Elios.
