This research attempts to develop a management diagnosis in order to improve management techniques in agricultural cooperatives. We carried out a survey on the diagnoses done by the Prefectural Agricultural Cooperative Federations in Japan. Based on the result, this paper suggests the following points: (1) The Federations in twenty prefectures conducted diagnoses on the Agricultural Cooperatives within individual prefectures; (2) Diagnoses of 18 prefectural Federations were done by internal staffs and the other 2 by outside staffs (entrusted members); (3) The Comparative Standard Index Value of the diagnosis was based on the following criteria such as the average number of Agricultural Cooperatives within the prefecture, the average magnitude of recommendation for the Agricultural Cooperatives within each prefecture, and other indexes (for example, subject standard index). The diagnoses are summarized in face charts, which were developed in this study to indicate excellent/poor situation of management. The face charts were reformed based on dynamic management, and the faces changes over time, accordingly. We feel that the face charts are more familiar and show each management diagnosis clearly and uniquely. The dynamic facecharts developed in this study are quite useful to provide agricultural cooperatives with appropriate information of management
