The purpose of this work is to research the utility of new designed auxiliary tool with a thread cutting die to raise the efficiency of cutting straight screw threads. Experiments of thread cutting were conducted by three methods. First: By conventional hand finishing we got a blank between the jaw of a vise, and cut a thread. Second: we used a lathe that we fitted a blank in a scroll chuck, and cut a thread with pushing a die handle against the blank, with tailstock. Third: we used the auxiliary tool. In order to investigate accuracy of cutting the screw thread axis, deviation from straightness and distortion of the center of screw thread were measured. In the first case of hand finishing cut, which had more deviation from straightness and distortion than other two methods. Using the lathe, looking over both points distortion was improved. Finally using the auxiliary tool, both points were improved more than in the other methods. It became clear that these cutting methods have direct effects on both deviation from straightness and distortion of the center of the screw thread. Moreover, screw threads cut by the method of using the auxiliary tool were improved in deviation from straightness up to almost the same as the angle of inclination which include that of the blank fitted in a scroll chuck and that of the auxiliary tool applied in the tailstock. These threads were improved both in deviation from straightness and distortion of the center of screw thread up to almost the same as those of both threads cut by using a threading tool and bolts placed on the market. From the facts described above, we have proved that the auxiliary tool has the effect on cutting screw threads accurately
