Analysis of agriculture-forestry production and settlement promotion policies in rural areas, 2: On the direct income compensation policy

It will be important to establish adequate support systems for production and settlement promotion in agriculture and in mountain villages. At the same time, it seems this policy will provide a very efficient method for maintaining regional resources and maintaining a river-basin environment. We made questionnaires and asked people from the urban and rural areas selected through random sampling, regarding their opinions on new policies, especially the income compensation policy. Rural people were asked whether they were willing to continue to live in a community based on agriculture and forestry, under the conditions of a supposed compensation amount or would chose to transfer to another area and still be given the compensation amount. Furthermore, urban people were asked if they were willing to finance such a compensation amount. In the result of the analyses, it was found that people from both communities have affirmative opinions and think that the policy should be followed by considering the farm or forestry scales and locations. Also, it was found that under this policy to continue agriculture and forestry, the incentives were more efficient, than to continue to live in such less-favored areas without them
