The influence of sucrose concentration in test meals on appetite in rats

The meal size and post meal interval were measured of 1 to 30% sucrose test meals in male rats. The animals were fasted 10 hours prior to the appetite test. They did poorly respond to less than 5% sucrose test meals. To 10 to 30% sucrose test meals a clear satiation response was shown, but the meal sizes in volume were equal irrespective to the different sucrose concentrations.
