Continuity of the Ownership program of rice terraces from the viewpoint of participants' behavior: A case study of Oyama-Senmaida in Kamogawa city [Japan]

To develop the ownership program of rice terraces at Oyama-Senmaida in Kamogawa city, in which participants from urbanized area pay some fee and experience the farming activity with the help of local people, the local community should provide the better service which meet the participants' needs. So, the authors made a questionary survey to six types of the participants, classified according to whether they applied or not, and whether were adopted or not in 2000 and 2001, asking their interests, reasons for their applying, their expectations, their satisfactions, etc. As a result, it should be said that these conditions to be fulfilled. 1) The number of participants should be kept or increased by promoting communication with the local people. 2) The support system should be managed with the participation of the local people and surrouding facilites are to be well managed. 3) Rice terraces in the district should be managed continuously.
