Summary Stem blight symptom on shoots of eggplant grown successively for several years was lately observed in Okayama Prefecture. The isolates from the lesion showed pathogenicity to shoots of eggplants by wound inoculation. The fungus was identified as Fusicoccum aesculi Corda on the basis of its characteristics.
