Hokuren Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives supported pig farming through supplying and improving breeding pigs, consulting service, and feeding. Since 1981, swine farms in Hokkaido have been changing to specialized and large-scale farms, and becoming companies. Hokuren Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives promotes swine complex creation as overall swine farm support. These efforts are evaluated as having a strong influence on the management stability of swine farms in Hokkaido.
