The paper describes the SOS Sahel's Northern Province Community Forestry Project (NCPCFP), which has been working with agricultural communities in the Nile valley around the town of Ed Debba in the Sudan. The projects aims to deal with the environmental problem of this area; by saving agricultural land and land for human settlement from desert encroachment; recover land already burned by the desert and protect infrastructure such as houses, school, clinics as well as inundations by moving sand.
