Procedures for testing new fungicides for the control of coffee berry and leaf rust diseases in Kenya
1986
Masaba, D.M.
Arabica coffee in Kenya suffers from two major fungal diseases namely: coffee berry disease (CBD) and coffee leaf rust. The use of fungicides is at present the only means of controlling both the diseases. This paper outlines the established procedures which are followed before a new fungicide is recommended to control either CBD and/or leaf rust. These include laboratory and field tests that are carried out to provide conclusive evidence of the effectiveness of the fungicide against the disease it is recommended to control
