English. The aim of this work was to find the presence of specific antibodies to Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis virus (IBR) in non vaccinated cattle from Tizimin, Yucatan, Mexico. Six hundred serum samples from 25 herds were analyzed by neutralization test; 05.33% were seropositive, at titers between l:2- 1:8. This results indicated the presence of IBR virus, which could cause problems in cattle from this location.

Con la finalidad de determinar la presencia de anticuerpos especificos contra Rinotraqueitis Infecciosa Bovina (IBR) en ganado del municipio de Tizimin, Yucatan, se trabajaron - por la tecnica de seroneutralizacion un total de 600 muestras, procedentes de 25 ranchos, sin antecedentes de vacunacion contra esta enfermedad, encontrandose una seropositividad del 5.33%, con titulos de 1:2 a 1:8, indicando la presencia del agente infeccioso, que pudiera estar afectando a la ganaderia de este municipio.
