Performance of hybrid maize cultivars under two level of nitrogen at NMRP Rampur in 1996 summer season
1997
Ghimire, S.P. | Paudel, M.N. (ARS, Rampur, Chitwan (Nepal))
Nine hybrid maize (Zea mays) cultivars tested at NMRP Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal in 1996 summer season at two level of nitrogen at 90 and 150 kg per hectare, were found highly significant for grain yield. Higher level of nitrogen produced positive response for grain yield. Interaction between nitrogen X variety for grain yield was not found significant. Plant height, ear height, 50 percent silking and tasseling were also significant among varieties but interaction between N X V was found nonsignificant. None of the yield and agronomic parameters were related with grain yield.
