The primary objective of the Eritrean country assistance strategy is to reduce poverty through a number of means. These means include assisting Eritrea to establish an environment in which the private sector can thrive and can generate financial growth and employment opportunities; helping to strengthen Eritrea's infrastructure, which will provide jobs and facilitate the provision of public services to the people; supporting the development of the human resource base of the country; and assisting with social fund programs targeted at the poor communities and vulnerable groups.
