Sierra Leone - HIV/AIDS Response Project
Songco, Jocelyn A.
The HIV/AIDS Response Project for Sierra Leone will assist the government to organize a response to the growing disease, within the context of the Multi-Country HIV/AIDS Program for the Africa Region (MAP II). In accordance with the main goal of the MAP, the development objectives of this four-year project are to contribute to reducing HIV/AIDS prevalence and mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS on persons infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. There are four project components. They finance capacity building, and policy and program coordination; multi-sector responses to HIV/AIDS prevention and care; health sector responses to HIV/AIDS, STI/TB, and other opportunistic infection management, including prevention and care; and community and civil society initiatives (including communities, nongovernmental organizations, religious groups, and the private sector).
