A. Gentile-Blackwell
This Precis entitled, From foodline to lifeline : rural roads in Morocco, complements the Bank's Operations and Evaluation Department (OED), Impact evaluation report, Morocco : Socioeconomic impact of rural roads, Report No. 15808, dated June 28, 1996. The evaluation found that better roads led to lower vehicle operating costs, resulting in less expensive public transport, basic household goods, and agricultural inputs. The lower costs of inputs, combined with year-round operability of roads, in turn stimulated a more efficient and profitable agricultural economy.
