Justice for the poor program : research paper on community access to justice and village judicial autonomy : interim report
Roberts, Dawn
The Justice for the poor program for Indonesia identifies mechanisms and institutions that currently exist for resolving disputes at the local level. It will track dispute resolution processes, norms, and actors with a specific focus on the experiences of poor and marginalized members of the community - women, ethnic minorities, and youth. The analysis is based on interviews, focus group discussions, and specific case studies from at least five provinces. The present interim report presents the findings of the field research conducted from January to June 2004. This interim report necessarily contains some generalizations, the complete case material is found in the field report from the four provinces. Not all the case material from the field has been written up at the time of the interim report. The final research paper is due in December 2004.
