Research highlights 2005 : publications of the development research group

This report resumes the practice of reporting annually on the research activity of the World Bank's principal research unit which is known as the Development Research Group (DECRG) within the Development Economics Vice-Presidency (DEC). It offers a brief account of the activities of the Group during 2005, a few highlights to illustrate the scope and nature of DECRG's research, and a full list of publications and new data sets from 2005. DECRG undertakes and stimulates high quality research with the aim of generating new knowledge on the process of development and policies to enhance it. The group's work includes country-specific and sector-specific analysis, but its ultimate focus is on generalizing results and the economy wide perspective.
