Kiss, Agi | Benbrook, Charles | Gisselquist, David
The Emergency Pilot Credit Project seeks to restart and expand enterprise activities in RS (Republika Srpska) through medium-term loans from commercial banks, and to improve credit management capacity and loan administration skills of RS banks. There are five project components. First, the line of credit component will provide emergency financing for needed inputs and repairs to permit small and medium scale majority private enterprises in the RS to restart or increase production to meet rising demand. Second, the bankers' training component will provide technical assistance to participating RS banks. The technical assistance will focus in the areas of credit management, credit evaluation, and adaptation to international standards. Third, the enterprise support component will develop viable business plans and strategies to enhance the quality of sub-loan requests. Fourth, the banking supervision component will apply prudential regulations and accounting frameworks, introduce new examination techniques, and develop risk management capacity. Fifth, the implementation support will finance administrative expenditures and technical assistance for the credit line section of the Project Coordination Unit.
