EFFECT OF HAVING REDUCED THE LEVEL OF PROTEIN IN THE DIET OF FATTENING PIGS. IT'S RESULT IN THE PERFORMANCE OF THE PIGS SUPPLEMENTED WITH SYNTHETIC AMINOACIDS AND COCONUT OIL | EFECTO DE LA DISMINUCIN DE LA PROTENA DE LA DIETA EN EL COMPORTAMIENTO DE CERDOS EN CEBA, CON SUMINISTRO DE AMINOCIDOS SINTTICOS Y ACEITE DE COCO

Spanish; Castilian.

There were used 21 females and castrated males YL x CC21 pigs, with an average live weight of 63 kg, distributed into three treatments according to a completely randomized design, with seven repetitions per treatment, in order to determine the productive performance of pigs fed different levels of protein and supplemented with lysine, methionine and coconut oil. The treatments were: Control (I), with 16% of crude protein (ordinary feeding), the second treatment (II) used a feeding with 13% of crude protein and included synthetic aminoacids, and the third treatment (III) supplied feeding with 13% of crude protein, with the addition of synthetic aminoacids and coconut oil.Initial weight, total gain, average daily gain, total consumption, average consumption and conversion of dry matter did not show significant differences amongst the three treatments. Final weights did not differ either, even though, by the observed difference in the weight, it should have been expected that at least Treatment III would be significantly higher than Treatment II. It could have been a result of not having conducted as many observations as needed in order to achieve the expected statistical differences. It was concluded that by using the regulation for nutritional requirements that suits the most the climatic conditions existing in Cuba according to Rostagno 2017, it was reduced the consumption of protein by adding synthetic aminoacids (lysine and methionine) without having affected the performance of the animals and improving the protein conversion.
