1985
Chandra, R. (Bihar Univ., Muzaffarpur (India) Central Potato Research Inst.) | Upadhya, M.D. | Jha, K.K.
The sigificance of single cell culture has been recognised widely. Following the success of Muir (1953) in growing callus from single cells isolated from callus tissue suspension cultures, many workers have reported elegant cell culture techniques. The efforts made by various workers on potato callus single cell suspension culture were reviewed in detail, (Chandra, 1981 Chandra et al., 1981). The plantlet formation from calli derived from potato tuber callus single cells in suspension cultures through several culturing procedures has been reported for the first time (Lam, 1977). In the present study the success was achieved in raising the plantlet from sprout meristem callus single cell
