2008
López Pantoja, G. | Domínguez, L. | Sánchez Osorio, I., Universidad de Huelva (España). Escuela Politécnica Superior
The Department of Farming and Forestry Sciences of the University of Huelva provided a summary of their studies on Cerambycidae wood-boring insects and the decay of quercus tree species, at meeting organized by the Ministry of the Environment of the Regional Government of Andalusia held to discuss forestry decay. In their conclusions, researchers recommend that after establishing the presence of the insects in a determined area, some of the practical measures to reduce their populations are to remove fallen trees and logs, carry out pruning and trunk treatments of affected parts of the trees, and to avoid cork bark harvesting of debilitated trees, etc.
