Use of radioactive isotope 33P fpr assessment of phosphorus bioavailabality in soil and lake sediments

Results were obtained in a comparimental analysis to quantify the amount of P isotopically exchangeable within 1 day, the amount of P exchangeable between 1 day and 3 months, the amount of P exchangeable between 3 months and 1 year and the amount of P wich could not be exchanged within 1 year. Investigations with 33P have been carried on soils and lake sediments from natural reserve "Lake Srebarna". Different distribution of isotopicalli exchangeable forms in studied pools depending on the landuse is observed. Every pool is characterized with the capacity of included element for exchange and the avarage time for transition from solid particles in soil solution. Investigations show exellent capacities of method of isotopic exchange kinetics for characterizing nutritional regime of soils and the potential risk of eutrophication.
