The investigation was carried out during the 2004-2006 period in the trial field of the Institute of Maize Knezha. The trials with maize hybrids and inbred lines - common and high-lysine ones, homozigous by Opaque-2 gene o2, are carried out under conditions without irrigation and density of growing 42 000 and 52 000 plants/ha. The results obtained show, that in spite of the variation of the heterosis activities of the individual hybrids by the year and density of growing there is no essential differences in the activities of the hypotetic and the real heterosis for the lenth of the ear between the common and high-lysine hybrids. Regarding the degree of dominance in F1 hp1 no essential differences between both compared maize groups have also been observed. They are positive and high both in the common and their high-lysine analogue. The year of the study affects more the heterosis and the degree of dominance than density of growing.
