During 1974-1985 at Agricultural and Zootechnical Research Station Oradea and at the Agricultural Production Cooperative Husasau de Tinca a series of experiments have been carried out regarding soil tillage on soils with temporary moisture excess (brown luvic and pseudogleic luvisols). The yielding results have led to the following conclusions: - disking as basic soil tillage may replace ploughing 2 years, after which it is necessary to perform a deep ploughing with the view to incorporate the vegetal remains to destroy the disease and pest sources to control the weeds and to aerate the soils; - the cultivator is the tool which can replace the plough on condition that the soil is free of weeds and vegetal remains; it influences the incr1017ease of productivity per surface unit and the decrease of fuel consumption (by 10-15%); - an optimum density of plants depends on the hybrid cultivated and on the climatic conditions of the cropping year; - the control of moisture excess is possible by applying some methods for deep soil mobilization through scarification which may determine the improvement of the physico-chemical traits and aerohydric regime of the
