Significance of the implementation of EU water directives in the Serbian water sector

The most important EU directives in the water sector are considered in this paper. Special focus is drawn to the Water Framework Directive and main directives of water use and control of water quality. Process of implementation of these directives in European countries and in Serbia is also considered, as well as the importance of these activities for Serbian water sector.
