This master thesis analyses a complex problem of groundwater pollution, especially caused by human activities. A totally new method of geochemical prospecting using a device Radijan 2001 SF for determination of lithological profiles, water-bearing layers and for investigation of present pollutants, in groundwater as well as in soil, was used at the wide territory of Novi Sad (Serbia) in order to detecting pollutants nearby sources of pollution of different type. The Radijan 2001 SF vastly simplifies the process of qualitative and quantitative analyze of soil and groundwater, but the method still has not been accepted as the standard one, because its results still have not been verified. This work analyses the most often pollutants and those pollutants that are expected to be present as the result of direct sources of pollution nearby the exploring point. Willing to define this method credibility, a few control measuring experiments at the characteristic points were done also there. At the same time groundwater there was sampled, later analyzed at the authorized laboratory with standard chemical methods.
