We investigated the activities of glutathione peroxidase (GSP-Px), glutathione reductase (GR) and phase II biotransformation enzyme glutathine-S-transferase (GST) in the hepatopancreas, the gills and the muscle of Noble crayfis (Astacus astacus), Stone crayfish (Austropotamobius torrentium) and Spynicheek crayfish (Orconectes limosus) from the South Morava river, Krajkovacka river, and Serbian part of the Danube. Our results show that both specific and total enzyme activities of GSH-Px., GR and activity of phase II biotransformation enzyme GST show a strong species and tissue specifics of the investigated crayfish species and represent good markers of the environmental influences of these organisms.
