Osteosynthesis is an operation of mergers and consolidation of bone fragments of various metal implants. The goal of surgical treatment of fracture is the early recovery of injured limb function. The assumption of a successful healing and early return of function is the treatment by AO principles. In veterinary orthopedics while performing osteosynthesis the most commonly used implants are: cerclage wire, K-wire, intermedullary nails and pins, screws, various types of plates with the appropriate screws, and external fixators. Osteosynthesis in small practices are subject to constant improvement, and the evolution of rapid and comprehensive progress.
