In this paper the trends of the active components and information technologies application in the design of the modern agricultural mechanization are considered. An approach to analysis of the tractor systems with respect to used control strategies and distribution control tasks on the hierarchical levels is proposed and discussed. The importance of the subsystem characteristics, driver – tractor, and controller – tractor, on the path following performance of whole tractor system is illustrated by simulation results.
