Lettuce is one of the most important vegetable species in human nutrition in last few years. Thanks to lot of different species, color and taste people use lettuce more and more in nutrition. In last few years new method of production was developed. That is hidroponic way of production. There are several different ways of hidroponic production: nutrient film technique, floating system, aeroponic system, mobile gully system and fixed gully system. Advantage of this kind of production are: lower residue level, increasing of shelf life of products, lover labor cost, product without dirt (DIRT FREE), new possibilities for new markets. In Serbia we have one producer with more than 3 ha of hidroponic lettuce production. Most important products are: SALADUO, SALATARIO and SALANOVA concept.
