Following results were found for total polyphenol content: coffee commercial products 7.90-18.45 g GAE/100 g; tea commercial products 12.55-33.61 g GAE/100 g; tea beverages 0.04-0.16 g GAE/100 ml; coffee beverages 0.12-0.35 g GAE/100 ml. Results showed that extraction of polyphenols from the coffee and tea material under the conditions of the usual preparation methods, is not quintessential, but is satisfactory. Regular consumption of coffee and tea leaf drinks can significantly increase daily intake of polyphenols.
