Consequences of the intensive and inappropriate application of sintetic insecticides in plant protection are reflected in the development of resistance, as well as in their accumulation in agricultural products, land, and water. Recently, the significance is attached to the research of alternative, more ecologically acceptable, methods of plant protection, which, among other things, include the use of bioinsecticides. By emphasizing integral and organic agricultural production, researching and implementation of bioinsecticides are acquiring the importance. Characteristics such as selectivity, low toxicity for warm-blooded organisms, fast degradation in the environment and within the plant itself, and the absence of development resistant insects populations are just some of the benefits of their application. In the Republic of Serbia, for the use in agricultural production, six bioinsecticide preparations are registered on the basis of Bacillus thuringiensis subspec. curds, Cydia pomonella granulovirus (CpGVR5) and Bauveria bassiana strain ATCC 74040, as well as rapeseed and azadirachine oil.
