Inter- and intracultivar variability of nitrogen fixation activity in spring barley [Hordeum vulgare]

Of 19 spring barley cultivars and breeding samples evaluated in vegetational experiment, five cultivars with increased nitrogen fixation have been revealed. Samples differed in the index of acetylene reduction by 24 times. Analysis of intracultivar variability showed a 3 - 18-fold spread of the nitrogen fixation in all tested cultivarss and samples
