Statistical approaches demonstrated the difference in sets of chemical elements when different criteria are applied. In terms of their information capacity for the geochemical anomaly studied the criteria may be arranged in the following sequence: mean arithmetic magnetitic variational exponent. Iron, zinc, nickel, chromium, lead and manganese get accumulated within the zone affected by the metallurgical plant releases. This zone is peculiar not only by the development of a geochemical anomaly, but of a geomagnetic one as well, which is related to fallout of highly magnetic megnetite
