A technology of vermicompost production was optimized. Red Californian worms were cultivated on peat and manure mixture (PMM), which consisted of valley peat and litter cattle manure at a ratio of the components of 1:4 of weight. In the experiments a pure culture of saprotroph fungus Trichoderma viride (TV), isolated from pine wood also was used. The experiment had the follow versions: common vermicultivation (VC) - (1), VC on PMM after solid fermentation of TV - (2), VC on PMM simultaneously with introduction of batch culture of TV into the substrate - (3), solid state fermentation of PMM TV without VC - (4). Already on the 11 day of VC vermicompost output in the (2) was higher than in the (1) version by 8.5% and amounted to 76.0%. Wheat seed treatment by acid extracts of vermicompostes provided an increase of green mass of roots and shoots relatively to the control meanings, at the same time no significant differences between the versions were found. The highest increase of available phosphorus (31%) and exchangeable potassium (35%) contents was noted in the (2) vermicompost. A content of nitrate nitrogen in the versions (2) and (3) was higher than in the (1) by 79 and 35% respectively. The version (2) was considered to be the most promising for VC practice
